Über mich

Hallo, I am Nobert (ohne "r"). I come from Uganda und bin 28 Jahre alt. At the time of writing this (16.03.2020 - 16:02), I am a new employee of VCA. I work in the Herzbereich with Ella, Vale, Micha among others including some very nice Praktikanten. I did a Masterstudium in Nonprofit Management in Osnabrück (2017 - 2019), something I pursued mit dem Ziel NGOs besser zu verstehen - as one of the founders of VCA Uganda, I got a bit unbequem with Freestyling and learning through mistakes and experience, so when I heard about the study program applied and was lucky enough to get it. Jetzt die wichtigste Dinge about me: I love Cats.

Wie bin ich zu Viva con Agua gekommen?

Please get some popcorn, here comes the most random story you will ever here incase you do not know already, ahem!!! If you play videogames then you agree with me that whoever picks the Music playlist for FIFA games is a god! The playlists are always unglaublich. While playing FIFA 2012 I heard a song I really liked, Verstrahlt by Marteria. I checked him out on youtube, heard more of his music and loved it. During my Deutsch Gedichte Vorlesung I told the lecturer lets listen to Verstrahlt, I understand the words, but i do not get the meaning, this could be a good poem. She had no idea who Marteria was. So she googled him and saw that he would be visiting Uganda in a month with an organisation called Viva con Agua. I was excited because I had literally spent the last 3 months or so learning Zum Glück in die Zukunft 1. 1 month later she organisaed that Viva con Agua would come visit the university with Marteria. I did not care one bit about VCA, all I wanted was to meet Marteria. Then this really loud and crazy Muzungu came to me, "EH, I AM MICHAEL, DO YOU KNOW VIVA CON AGUA?" after a very deep and fast talk about VCA that lasted about 5 Minute, we agreed that, I will do a Praktikum in Deutschland the following year. I am not making this up, das ist alles eine Wahre Geschichte. So if you ask me how I met VCA, I will tell you it was through FIFA 2012. But if you said through Marteria, you would not be wrong, or my lecturer, also correct, take your pick :-)

Mein Arbeitsalltag bei Viva con Agua

Als Neuling, kann ich momentan nichts vieles sagen. Bis jetzt it was mostly Onboarding, so watch the space. I will be updating this spot in the near future.

Was wünsche ich mir für VcA?

VCA ist ein Platform für alle. Everyone kann sich engagieren wie man will (ausser Terrorismus 4 WASH oder Diebstahl 4 WASH) oh! but if there's is Diebstahl for WASH, then these Diebe can call themselves the Washketeers and guess what their catch phrase will be ... just take one gues hahaha. On this note, I hope to see more talents, more hobbies joining for WASH, more dancers, more gamers, more streamers. I think these are demographics that hold a lot of potential not just numerically (moneywise) but also as multipliers. I imagine the Jabbawockeez on stage someday dancing for WASH, that would be soooo sick, or even a WASH Skin in Fortnite. These are extremely personal wishes More general would be to see the success of VCA in African countries. Success in being able to help and support each other as an African Network, support local communities through own projects and most of all, I hope VCA in Africa can be the fuel that ignites the flame of engagement by the African youth to take responsibility of their own issues through doing what they love. Such that one day maybe it will be AFWWFA - Africa for Water, Water for Africa.
